Movistar Team unveiled their 2014 line-up at the company headquarters of Telefónica in Madrid earlier today. All riders and staff were present at the event, barring Italian Giovanni Visconti who is recovering after an operation on his broken tibia sustained at the Tour Down Under last week.
Canyon is the official bike supplier to Movistar Team for 2014 and the riders will be able to choose between the Ultimate CF SLX and Aeroad CF models for road stages with the Speedmax CF reserved for time trials.
After ending 2013 as the number one ranked team in the UCI WorldTour, Manager Eusebio Unzué made it clear at the presentation that the team wants to go bigger and better in 2014. The season already got off to the perfect start last week at the Tour de San Luis in Argentina, where Nairo Quintana and Adriano Malori won stages and Quintana walked away with the overall. With the number of races coming thick and fast over the next few weeks, be sure to keep one eye on the results for what will no doubt be a big year for Movistar Team and Canyon.
