The appearance of the frame, which was decorated with the iF product design award, is dominated by a focus on the basics. Perfectly manufactured and a reduced silhouette according to the credo "form follows function". The superlight and high-end carbon frame sets cyclists' hearts racing thanks to innovative features like IPU and VCLS technology with the Maximus Seattube. 2x10 is the ideal transmission for competitive riding. The combination of 36 tooth sprocket and 26 tooth chain ring guarantees that the rider has an optimum race set-up for demanding race courses.
The RockShox SID with 100mm of travel and tapered steerer delivers greater stiffness, keeps the front wheel firmly on the ground and guarantees even better control thanks to the DNA cartridge. The powerful stopping power of the Avid Elixir 5 ensures that you'll always be able to bring the Grand Canyon CF 8.0 to a safe standstill. The Impact Protection Unit (IPU) in the head set guarantees a high level of safety in the event of a crash by preventing the handlebar from coming into contact with the top tube.
DT Swiss X 1700
DT Swiss wheels have an outstanding reputation among racing cyclists and amateurs alike. That's little wonder because they run as precisely as the proverbial Swiss watch - this also applies to theX1700. True running coupled with brute acceleration and perfect steering precision.

VCLS Technology
VCLS – Vertical Comfort Lateral Stiffness. The design of the connection between seat tube, seat stays and top tube, the special Ritchey VCLS seat post as well as a special carbon layup, helps to obtain a significant increase in comfort while maintaining high lateral stiffness.
Framesize dependent tubing
Long tubes are not as stiff as short tubes of the same dimension. Therefore, the tube dimensions of the Grand Canyon CF are designed depending on their size. The result: overproportional weight reduction for small frames and overproportional increase in stiffness for larger frame sizes.
Maximus Seattube
Bottom bracket stiffness is the main factor determining the power efficiency of a frame. The patented Maximus seat tube, with its shape resulting from complex calculations and the large contact area on the double-walled hollow bottom bracket shell ensures superior stiffness values.
Impact Protection Unit (IPU)
The high-quality industrial ball bearings on the tapered head tube are equipped with the Impact Protection Unit, which was developed especially for Canyon. The advantage is that when a crash happens, the top tube will be effectively protected from the handle bar smashing into it.
