"The bike rolls up the climbs with ease and the central rider position delivers optimum control even on the steepest of climbs whilst keeping the front wheel glued to the ground without any hint of nervousness. And what about the rear triangle? It remains steady and there is only a slight hint of bob when the rider gets out of the saddle. The Nerve plunges confidently down the descents and delivers a great feeling of safety with its wide handlebar and precise handling". Outstanding – test victory according to the verdict of Mountainbike (05/12)
The nerve AL 8.0 W impresses with its well balanced character and versatility. Another top feature is the superb range of equipment.
The responsive Fox Float Performance with FIT cartridge fork guarantees the best possible performance on long descents. Thanks to the CTD (Climb, Trail, Descend) function you can adjust your suspension to every possible situation at the mere turn of a lever. You can really look forward to the XT shift system with Dyna-Sys and 10 speed transmission. The rear derailleur with Shadow Plus technology works accurately and reduces the risk that the derailleur hits the right-hand chain stay on blocked trails. The combination of Crosstrail wheels and Nobby Nic tyres guarantees greater safety and trouble-free ride fun. With the wide handlebar you can safely guide the Nerve AL 8.0 W through every corner.

Radial pivot bearing
The radial pivot bearing is 20 times stronger than a conventional industrial bearing. Considering the small space it takes up and its proximity to the bottom bracket, it is an important building block for the drive neutrality of the frame.
Hydro 14
The integration of hydroformed tube sets in the Nerve XC frame allows a new freedom in design. Flowing, smooth transitions direct the loads, which are generated during cycling, safely and directly through the material. In addition, reinforcing plates (gussets) become unnecessary. This saves weight while maintaining full stiffness.
Asymmetric seat stays
While the seat stay on the left of the frame has to deal with high braking loads, we were able to get the weight down on the less stressed right side. The asymmetrical design of the stays provides maximum braking power on the one hand and a weight advantage on the other side.
Internally routed cables
A superb appearance and protected from weather, the shift cables run inside the frame. To prevent rattling in the down tube we created the crossed cable routing, for which a patent is pending. The cables stabilize each other in this way. By eliminating the cable housing we were again able to reduce weight.
