"Mission accomplished. The Torque Gapstar captured the imagination of the testers by storm. The bike is well equipped and delivers superb control thanks to its potent suspension. It is also forgiving of small riding errors, but at the same time playful". 9.5/10 points in the FREERIDE magazine test (02/2011).
You pedal up the climbs with ease and have enough time to enjoy the flow on the trails thanks to the premium anti-squat kinematic and the durable double Race Face Chester crankset. The sensitive RockShox Lyrik RC2DH on the front allows you to maintain full control over your bike. The reliable fork with tapered steerer and 170mm of travel is well armed for every challenge and delivers optimum performance on rough parts of the trail.
The suspension is polished off by the high-end air shock Double Barrel Air from Cane Creek, which boasts a very wide range of adjustment. The shock can be adjusted to perfectly meet your needs via the independent high and low speed compression and rebound functions. A light frame with great freedom of movement – with the hard core enduro Torque EX Gapstar with 180mm of travel you can confidently forget about the chairlift on your ride because this bike has everything you need for a demanding and challenging tour.

"I start the climb with the ski lift, twiddle my way a further 300 hundred metres of elevation to the summit and then really shred the single trails."Tibor, canyon Hero

On the bottom bracket you can mount adapter plates for the ISCG-05, as well as for a Shimano E-Type front derailleur. This allows you to ride the Torque either with chain guide, Hammerschmidt crank set or with a 2 to 3-speed chain ring. The adapter plates are available separately as accessories.
Through a special arrangement of the four bearing points of the rear triangle, the 180 mm of rear travel will remain absolutely bob free even during pedalling. At the same time pedal kickback is reduced to a minimum.
By using a scale on the lever and a drag indicator on the bearing, you can easily read the used travel. Thus, tuning the suspension is a breeze.
Postmount standard and Syntace X-12-Thru Axle
180 mm and 185 mm brake discs can be directly attached to the frame without an adapter. This Direct- (Post) Mount attachment saves weight, increases the stiffness of the brake and facilitates tuning. Next to advantages concerning weight and stiffness the Syntace X-12 Axle provides a 100% accurate positioning of the rear wheel and brake disc. The easy handling makes a wheel change as fast and smooth as never before.
