profile

Low rolling resistance, great traction, an excellent riding position and superb smoothness – the Spectral AL 8.9 is stable and fluid when riding along rough, high speed trails yet supremely agile in low speed technical sections. With CTD, the lightweight Fox 32 Float Performance suspension can be adjusted quickly and easily to suit the terrain. Whether on damp forest trails or in raw rocky landscapes, the DT Swiss XM 1501 Spline wheelset with its aggressive Continental tyre combination always finds grip when you need it most.

Further support is provided by the sensitive rear triangle with the Fox Boost Valve damper, which provides outstanding responsiveness to keep you on the perfect line down rugged descents. The Spectral AL 8.9 – ready for the next adventure out on the trails!

Bike Classification

Bikes in this category include those from categories 1 and 2 and are designed for harsher, unpaved terrain. The scope for these bikes includes occasional jumps up to a maximum height of 60 cm. Jumps of this scale can cause inexperienced riders to have accidents on landing, which can result in injury. Hardtail mountain bikes and full-suspension bikes with short travel are included in this category.

Canyon Through Axle

Postmount standard
Thanks to the Post-Mount brake socket at the rear wheel, we no longer need an adapter and connecting bolts. This not only saves weight but also simplifies the adjustment of the brakes.

Canyon Through Axle
The new Canyon through-axle system delivers maximum rigidity to the rear wheel with its 12 mm through-axle. Compared to other through-axle systems, the rear wheel is mounted fully on the dropout which means that the wheel can be fitted and removed more easily and faster.

Tapered Steerer
Steering precision is a key parameter for the ride characteristics of a mountain bike. Thanks to the tapered steerer headset stiffness is significantly increased.

Anti-Squat-Kinematics
Thanks to the position of the bearing points on the four-link, the so-called anti-squat kinematics, compensates pedal induced bob. Any lockout and high compression damping can be avoided. The rear triangle works sensitively, without any power loss and provides more comfort and traction.
