A premium alloy frame with innovative refinements and outstanding stiffness levels. The Grand Canyon AL 29 demonstrates that it is a perfect long-distance touring and trail hardtail. Based on the experience gained with the long-term test frame Grand Canyon AL, the geometry has been perfectly adapted to meet the needs of 29ers. The short wheelbase delivers lively handling and the short head tube allows us to achieve a minimum of stack, thereby improving the bike's climbing ability.
The Shimano Press-Fit-Standard and the patented Maximus Seattube guarantee first-rate bottom bracket stiffness for determined attacks on the climbs. The X12 axle provides superb advantages in terms of weight and stiffness and guarantees a 100% precise seating of the rear wheel and brake disc. Since 29er wheels have a significantly greater rolling circumference, all 29er models are equipped with a double chain ring 36/22 or 38/24. These gear ratios make this alloy rocket ideal for technically demanding climbs and fast marathon routes.
Organic tubes increase stability which in turn has a positive effect on frame stiffness. In addition, the hardness of the tubes is increased and gussets therefore become as good as supefluous.

The patented Maximus Seattube has all the prerequisites to achieve an extremely stiff rear triangle thanks to the large contact surface between seattube and bottom bracket shell.
Stiffness is king. That doesn't just apply to the frame, but also to the axles. By using an X12 thru-axle at the front and on the rear triangle the stiffness increases and the ride performance is significantly improved. The AL 29ers benefit here in perticular.
