The advantages of the all-mountain bikes are obvious. Steering precision is a key parameter for the riding characteristics of a mountain bike. Thanks to the tapered steerer the space for the steerer tube and the lower steering bearings is augmented. This leads to a 100% increase in stiffness of the steerer tube.
We have optimized the pivot points and make use of the tensile forces which are exerted on the suspension. The annoying squat is now a thing of the past - and all this without using the Lockout function. Squat is caused by the changing forces exerted when pedalling and the constant up and down movement of the body. Squat is far more pronounced when the rider is turning smaller gears rather than larger ones. In order to supress squat, our anti-squat-kinematic causes the chain to pull the suspension apart. The ingenious thing about the whole thing is that the supression of squat is much more intense in the smaller gears and much less so in larger gears. The shock therefore needs neither Lockout nor an extreme amount of compression. The rear triangle thus operates much more responsively and delivers greater comfort and control.
The most prominent feature of the modern alloy frame is the one-piece top tube. Thanks to the most modern hydroforming method no gusset is required on the connection to the seat tube. This avoids a further weld seam and a greater reliability and durability is achieved.
Stiffness is the greatest asset. This doesn't just apply to the frame, but also to the axles. By using an X12 thru-axle the stiffness is increased and bike handling is significantly improved.
