No track is too long for you, no climb too high in pursuit of the Holy Trail. Thanks to the best anti-squat kinematics and X12 through-axle, the lightweight super-enduro Torque EX bike climbs straight to the summit. The adventure can begin: as you embark on the descent, the substantial 180 mm suspension travel and sensitive chassis response reliably swallow chunky blocks in conjunction with the specified Cane Creek Double Barrel Air, even on rough downhill passages. The sag monitor allows you to achieve an efficient chassis setup in a matter of moments.
Whether riding downhill at full speed or in action at the bike park, the exuberant Torque EX guarantees fun. The short rear triangle keeps the bike manoeuvrable while the low bottom bracket ensures an even better seat on the bike and delivers a healthy extra portion of performance on fast bends or in jumps. The RockShox Reverb Stealth with infinitely variable lowering and remote lever is the perfect supplement for uncompromising riding pleasure, and is fitted as standard to all models (except Gapstar). Gapstar, Trailflow or Vertride – find your favourite.
Suspension set-up is a major and complex theme and the SAG monitor sheds light on this. The SAG monitor displays the negative travel (SAG) and the amount of used travel. This makes an efficient suspension set-up as easy as pie.
Squat is caused by the periodically changing forces when pedalling and the continuous up and down movement of the rider's body. Smaller gears are more influenced than larger gears. The anti-squat-kinematic uses the force of the chain to pull the suspension apart, thereby effectively suppressing squat.
Stiffness is any bike's trump card. That just doesn't apply to the frame, but also to the axles. By using an X12 thru-axle the stiffness is increased and the ride performance significantly improved.
The extra-wide rocker arm offers a great deal of stiffness and is double bolted in the middle which allows a great deal of freedom in terms of design. An extra-wide mount offers especially high levels of stability. Thanks to the wide down tube the Canyon specialists were able to design the shock mount even stiffer. We have completely redesigned the linking elements of the rear triangle. The result is a high level of durability and the optimum smooth running of bearings. An example of this is the rocker arm bearing: Special cones guarantee a perfect form fit and a very precise bearing seat. A further example is the main pivot bearing: The two-piece axle shaft is not only easy to assemble and maintain, but the cones also guarantee an optimal load transfer from the chain stay into the main frame. The tapering of the bottom bracket shell has now made an optimal routing of the front derailleur possible and this guarantees optimum performance on the trails.
