Ain’t no mountain too high nor valley too low when you’re in pursuit of the Holy Trail! Thanks to its outstanding Anti-Squat Kinematics and stiff X12 Through-Axle, the lightweight super-Enduro Torque EX sets you on the path straight to the summit. From the top, it’s downhill all the way! With a 180mm of travel and a sensitive chassis working in harmony with the Cane Creek Double Barrel Air shock, the Torque EX lets nothing stand in its way. The Sag Monitor allows you to create an efficient chassis setup, just by flicking a switch.
Whether you‘re tearing down descents or sessioning the bike park, you’re guaranteed a good time when riding the feisty Torque EX. The compact rear triangle keeps the bike very agile and the low bottom bracket gives you the perfect riding position, meaning you can rip through corners and hit bigger jumps. Partner all this with the remotely adjustable RockShox Reverb Stealth seatpost, which features on all models (except Gapstar), and you get the ultimate riding thrills. Gapstar, Trailflow or Vertride – which is your favourite?
Suspension set-up is a major and complex theme and the SAG monitor sheds light on this. The SAG monitor displays the negative travel (SAG) and the amount of used travel. This makes an efficient suspension set-up as easy as pie.
Squat is caused by the periodically changing forces when pedalling and the continuous up and down movement of the rider's body. Smaller gears are more influenced than larger gears. The anti-squat-kinematic uses the force of the chain to pull the suspension apart, thereby effectively suppressing squat.
Stiffness is any bike's trump card. That just doesn't apply to the frame, but also to the axles. By using an X12 thru-axle the stiffness is increased and the ride performance significantly improved.
The extra-wide rocker arm offers a great deal of stiffness and is double bolted in the middle which allows a great deal of freedom in terms of design. An extra-wide mount offers especially high levels of stability. Thanks to the wide down tube the Canyon specialists were able to design the shock mount even stiffer. We have completely redesigned the linking elements of the rear triangle. The result is a high level of durability and the optimum smooth running of bearings. An example of this is the rocker arm bearing: Special cones guarantee a perfect form fit and a very precise bearing seat. A further example is the main pivot bearing: The two-piece axle shaft is not only easy to assemble and maintain, but the cones also guarantee an optimal load transfer from the chain stay into the main frame. The tapering of the bottom bracket shell has now made an optimal routing of the front derailleur possible and this guarantees optimum performance on the trails.
