Very good
No way is too far for you and no climb too hard in the search for the Holy Trail. On the hard core enduro bike Torque EX with 180mm of travel you can confidently forget about the chair lift because this bike has everything you need for a demanding tour. The updated geometry for 2013 with its lower bottom bracket guarantees a big improvement in performance in sharp corners or when doing jumps. The Sag monitor helps you to achieve an efficient suspension set-up at the drop of a hat. Thanks to the anti-squat-kinematic and X12 thru-axle the Torque impresses on rough downhill passages with excellent ride characteristics and stiffness levels.
Spoilt for choice: Depending on the type of use you can fit a Hammerschmidt, double or triple chain rings. The progressively adjustable RockShox Reverb Stealth with remote is the perfect add-on if you are looking for uncompromising ride fun and can be fitted to all Torque models. Whether it's the Alpinist, Vertride, Trailflow or Gapstar - every Torque model is perfectly matched to its own area of intended use.
Suspension set-up is a major and complex theme and the SAG monitor sheds light on this. The SAG monitor displays the negative travel (SAG) and the amount of used travel. This makes an efficient suspension set-up as easy as pie.
Squat is caused by the periodically changing forces when pedalling and the continuous up and down movement of the rider's body. Smaller gears are more influenced than larger gears. The anti-squat-kinematic uses the force of the chain to pull the suspension apart, thereby effectively suppressing squat.
Stiffness is any bike's trump card. That just doesn't apply to the frame, but also to the axles. By using an X12 thru-axle the stiffness is increased and the ride performance significantly improved.
The extra-wide rocker arm offers a great deal of stiffness and is double bolted in the middle which allows a great deal of freedom in terms of design. An extra-wide mount offers especially high levels of stability. Thanks to the wide down tube the Canyon specialists were able to design the shock mount even stiffer. We have completely redesigned the linking elements of the rear triangle. The result is a high level of durability and the optimum smooth running of bearings. An example of this is the rocker arm bearing: Special cones guarantee a perfect form fit and a very precise bearing seat. A further example is the main pivot bearing: The two-piece axle shaft is not only easy to assemble and maintain, but the cones also guarantee an optimal load transfer from the chain stay into the main frame. The tapering of the bottom bracket shell has now made an optimal routing of the front derailleur possible and this guarantees optimum performance on the trails.
