Even from a distance, the brand new Ultimate CF SLX makes its mark with slim tubes, flowing shapes and an attractive race look. The cable system has been entirely remodelled – the cables remain concealed even in the modern Press-Fit bottom brackets and the chain stays. This gives the bike a cleaner look and makes it even more streamlined. The special thin headsets maximise the shaft diameter despite the low front surface area. The result? Maximum stiffness for sprints and maximum steering precision and safety for starts. “The bike bristles with the famous Canyon stiffness, motivating you from the starting gun.” (road.cc ; September 2012)

The stiff, lightweight Mavic Ksyrium SLR WTS wheels with Exalith braking surface perform well during acceleration and keep you safely on track. Shimano’s elite groupset Dura-Ace is even faster, more precise and more direct. New: an 11 speed cassette for an even wider ratio and an extremely stiff and lightweight four arm chainset. Perfect stiffness and maximum comfort: the new super lightweight One One Four SLX race fork with carbon fibre dropouts delivers outstanding lateral stiffness, and like the seat stays, it uses VCLS technology (Vertical Comfort Lateral Stiffness) to absorb hard knocks and vibrations. Greater comfort for better performance – the Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 is the definition of dynamism.

VCLS Technology
Vertical Comfort, Lateral Stiffness – the VCLS Stays in conjunction with the VCLS Post improve the suspension properties of the frame effectively, without affecting the lateral stiffness. The VCLS Blades on the fork, comprising a special combination of basalt and carbon fibres, complete the Canyon VCLS Technology.

i-Lock headset system
With the special clamping mechanism of the i-Lock headset system the drilling of the steerer tube and the fitting of a clamping cone are no longer necessary. This ensures that the carbon shaft of the fork stays intact and offers maximum safety in every riding situation.
