Striving for perfection and to build the best bike for you is our motivation. Our aim was clearly defined: to revolutionize one of the best framesets in the world and with the development of the 2013 Ultimate CF SLX we have succeeded in achieving this. The 790g lightweight frame sets new benchmarks with its outstanding levels of stiffness, comfort and design. A particular point of focus was on the frame's rear triangle. The direct link between the seat stays and the top tube increases the level of lateral stiffness in this area significantly and the flattening of the top tube and Maximus Seattube considerably improves comfort. These features coupled with the stiffer Press-Fit bottom bracket and asymmetric chain stays deliver maximum performance.
The internally routed cables give the bike a clean and tidy appearance all round and guarantee the most precise shifting in combination with the two-part derailleur hanger. Even more comfort is delivered by the One One Four SLX fork. The racing fork with carbon drop outs boasts exceptional lateral stiffness and absorbs even the most severe shocks and vibrations thanks to VCLS technology. This relieves pressure on the muscles and saves your energy for the finishing sprint. You have the choice of 11 different versions of the bike. New in 2013: the Ergospeed model with Ergospeed handlebar tape, 25mm tyres and the VCLS Post 2.0, which is available as an option on all models.
A streamlined silhouette guarantees vertical flex. This prevents shocks from reaching the rider. Your hands remain well supplied with blood for longer, your levels of performance will be better for longer and your muscles will be able to work more efficiently for longer periods.
The seat stays pass either side of the seattube and are connected directly to the rear end of the top tube. The connection between seattube and top tube thus becomes much stiffer, but can still provide sufficient vertical flex when absorbing harder shocks.This prevents shocks from reaching the rider. Your hands remain well supplied with blood for longer, your levels of performance will be better for longer and your muscles will be able to work more efficiently for longer periods.
The derailleur hanger consists of a right and left hand part, which is bolted onto either side of the carbon drop-out. This guarantees maximum width and stiffness at the lowest possible weight.
The extremely sharp entry and exit angles of the cables at the front and rear of the top tube significantly reduce friction. In addition, the protective stickers become redundant since the cable casings cannot come into contact with the frame regardless of the how far you turn the handlebars.
