Eight marathon full suspension bikes took part in the test conducted by BIKE magazine. There were only minimal differences in price between the candidates. However, as far as the level of equipment was concerned it was not difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff.
The Nerve MR 9.0 SL cut a fine figure all round. Low overall weight and top equipment such as Shimano's top XTR groupset or Magura MT8 brake. It's especially when one sees the finer details that one recognizes that the Koblenz based firm passionately pursues its aims. The Nerve MR is a great performer on steep ramps with its low front end and wide cockpit and the low weight of the wheels makes the bike a really lively mover. At the same time the seat angle is a fairly flat one in comparison to other bikes at just 71.9 degrees. Direct acceleration is delivered via the lighter wheels, a competitive and compact position on the bike as well as the suspension. The safe and balanced handling characteristics also impress on the downhill.
BIKE magazine verdict: Very good.
The Nerve MR 9.0 SL is a true marathon full suspension bike. Light, very well manufactured with superb equipment!
