The developers work very closely together and exchange ideas in their respective projects. In the development centre in Garmisch ideas and visions are created. This is also where the future of Canyon is being shaped; in the centre of the mountains and as part of the environment, as this is the only way we can best develop our products here at Canyon - in cooperation with the developers at Canyon.Home in Koblenz.
Here the engineers and developers put all their ideas together, design on the computer, simulate and test until the first prototype is created. Cycling is a highly complex process. A bike is a machine which is driven forward by pure muscular power. The rider sitting on the bike wants to use his strength as efficiently as possible in order to propel himself forward and have the ultimate riding experience.
The bike should be as light as possible and the energy should only be converted into forward power. The bike should also be stable, the rider should feel at home on the bike and it must guarantee him safety in every situation.
In order to achieve all these aims, many areas including ergonomics, dynamics, biomechanics, aerodynamics in the case of the racing bike and suspension technology with mountainbikes, material fatigue and stability of construction must be borne in mind. Here, newly gained research flows constantly into the development of new products and this contributes towards fulfilling these aims even better.
