The Aeroad embodies racing in its purest form. Top spot in the individual UCI WorldTour rider rankings three years in a row and victories in the world’s biggest races serve as undeniable evidence of its pedigree. Now reborn, the Aeroad CF SLX proved its speed with two stage wins in its debut Tour de France. We took the best attributes from the Speedmax CF TT machine and Ulitimate CF SLX to create the 980 g frame. The result is a bike that fuses together the very best aerodynamics with the classic parameters that make a winning race bike: maximum stiffness, lightness, exceptional handling and comfort.
The new Aerocockpit CF was at the core of the development and epitomises the systematic integration of key components to enhance overall performance. Increased bottom bracket stiffness is clear when putting down big watts in sprints, while tackling fast descents becomes more assured thanks to the boost in head tube stiffness. An aggressive riding position achieved through our Pro Geometry means the rider gets more speed for less effort so they can save their power for when it really matters. The Aeroad CF SLX succeeds in taking overall road bike performance to a higher level.
The H11 Aerocockpit CF is an integrated bar and stem that combines aerodynamic performance with low weight and stiffness. The aero advantages add up to approximately 5.5 W at 45 km/h against a conventional bar and stem thanks to the minimal frontal surface area, full cable and wire integration, including specific recess for Di2 Junction Box and the seamless transition between bartape and bar tops.
Shimano Direct Mount brakes sit flush against the frame and provide reliable braking thanks to their symmetrical dual pivot design. Another advantage is offered in race situations as the brakes can be unhinged quickly and easily for quick wheel changes.
The hidden seat clamp for the S27 Aero VCLS seatpost falls perfectly into line with the overall system integration of the Aeroad concept. Surface area is effectively reduced thanks to the smooth transition between seatpost and down tube, while also maintaining the Trident 2.0 profile. Setback is widely adjustable between +15 mm and -1 mm.
The Canyon Aeroblade SLX is 12% lighter than the previous model, tipping the scales at just 340 g. With a straight 1 1/4 fork shaft, the rider is guaranteed better steering precision and enhanced front end stiffness than narrower alternatives. An aero profile is perfectly applied where the fork meets the frame thanks to the distinctive prow form.
