The Grand Canyon AL SLX delivers everything needed for the perfect trail and XC hardtail 29er, and then some. Its 1670 g aluminium frame is world-class – trimmed down to be as light as possible all while maintaining outstanding stiffness and durability. The geometry is enhanced to extract the best performance from larger wheel sizes. A shortened wheelbase guarantees agile handling down twisting and technical descents. Pedalling efficiency and climbing performance are also given a boost thanks to the compact head tube and steep seat angle so you can keep spinning up impossible gradients where everyone else has to get off and walk.
Responsiveness and feedback are what set the hardtail riding experience apart. The Grand Canyon AL SLX has all bases covered thanks to its tapered steerer for predictable and accurate handling, especially under heavy braking. Rear triangle stiffness is taken to the next level by the X-12 through axle system that combines with our Maximus Seat Tube so that all your power meets the trail. 27.5” wheels are equipped on size XS models so that riders of all heights get the best combination of geometry, handling and low weight to suit them. Attaching a race number or riding your favourite trails, the Grand Canyon AL SLX was born to do it all.
Organic tubes increase stability which in turn has a positive effect on frame stiffness. In addition, the hardness of the tubes is increased and gussets therefore become as good as supefluous.
Internal cable routing ensures the cables are 100% protected from the elements and ensures a clean look.
The patented Maximus Seat Tube has all the prerequisites to achieve an extremely stiff rear triangle thanks to the large contact surface between seat tube and bottom bracket shell.
Stiffness is king. That doesn't just apply to the frame, but also to the axles. By using an X12 thru-axle at the front and on the rear triangle the stiffness increases and the ride performance is significantly improved. The AL 29ers benefit here in perticular.
