We will significantly boost our engagement in Olympic distance triathlon and are happy to announce to be supporting German triathlete, Anne Haug from this season. In 2014, Anne will line up at ITU World Triathlon Series races aboard her new Aeroad CF with an eye firmly fixed upon the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, to which we are committed to continuing our support.
Canyon Team Liaison Manager, Andreas Walzer, looks forward to a successful partnership: “We are thrilled to have Anne on board as she is without doubt one of the best short distance triathletes in the world at the moment. Canyon has been involved in triathlon for decades now and we constantly strive to improve our bikes in order to meet the requirements of our athletes. It is inspiring to witness Anne’s absolute commitment to her sport and we are sure to benefit greatly from her feedback so we can further develop and improve our bikes.”
Anne is also impressed by her new bike supplier: “Right from the off when we had our first meeting at Canyon.Home it was clear to me that “Pure Cycling” isn’t just some company slogan, you can actually see that all the employees are truly passionate about it. The way they constantly strive for perfection and aren’t afraid to come up with radical new ideas made a big impression on me. All the hard work they put in is obvious when I look at my Aeroad CF. It’s fast, it’s stiff and it looks amazing too!”
Anne is currently Germany’s number-one triathlete and is ranked in the top three in the world following a string of impressive performances over recent seasons, including 2nd place in the 2012 World Championships, 3rd in the 2013 World Triathlon Series overall rankings as well as victory with the German team in the World Mixed Relay Championships. Anne has spent the early part of this year preparing for the season with her new Aeroad CF on Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, and she has just landed in Australia where she will apply the final touches to her training ahead of the upcoming competitions Down Under.
The first race of the season for Anne will take place on 15.03.2014 with the sprint event at the Mooloolaba Triathlon World Cup.
We're looking forward to our first season together and wish Anne the best of luck.
