The sole objective of the Speedmax CF is to carve through the air and put you at the top of the timing sheets. 100% UCI-legal, the Speedmax CF racked up multiple WorldTour individual and team time trial wins throughout 2014 and remains the envy of the pro peloton when it comes to tests against the clock. Maximum speed for minimal watts is what time trial enthusiasts at every level strive for. With our Trident tube profiles, vast adjustability and comprehensive integration of essential components, the Speedmax CF gives you a distinct advantage over the competition even before your start number is called. Nothing is left to chance. No parts are needlessly exposed to the wind. Every single element is driven towards absolute aerodynamic efficiency.
Rider position is essential when it comes to exploiting all the benefits of a highly streamlined frame. The integrated cockpit allows a practically limitless number of base bar, spacer and extension configurations. Combine this with a highly adjustable seatpost and TT-specific saddles and the Speedmax CF will adapt to your position, not the other way around. Our Trident tube profile was born out of extensive wind tunnel and CFD analysis to give the best aerodynamic performance at a range of yaw angles. Massive lateral stiffness also means that none of your power gets wasted. We set out to create the fastest TT bike ever with the Speedmax CF. The results will leave your competition playing catch up.
Optimum use of limited space: This is guaranteed by the integrated centre-pull brake which delivers outstanding performance and modulation whilst in addition being around 60g lighter than a conventional rim brake.
The shift and brake cables enter the frame through inserts in the Canyon Aero Stem and nare then routed completely inside the frame. A mere 12cm of Di2 cable is externally routed in the cockpit area. A unique innovation: The front brake cable is routed through the centre of the two headset bearings. This avoids sharp bends in the cables and the rider does not need to exert a great deal of pressure on the lever to achieve powerful braking performance.
Thanks to the Rake Shift inserts the rider can modify the ride characteristics of the bike. There are three available settings (front / centre /rear) with each setting delivering a 2.5mm difference in trail. Greater trail delivers a smoother ride whilst less trail delivers a somewhat more agile frame geometry.
In order to reduce air turbulence around the frame the seat clamp was entirely integrated in the frame. The assembly requires a very low level of tightening torque.
