What is 100mm of travel good for? For some people the increased level of safety and for others the increased comfort on longer rides. However for both the 100mm of travel offers above all mega amounts of fun! Bike magazine tested 11 100mm bikes and elected a clear winner on points: the Nerve MR 9.0.
As soon as the testers set eyes on the bike, they were overwhelmed. "At first sight we could hardly believe that the Nerve belongs in this test field with an almost entire XX transmission, SID XX suspension fork and DT wheels. But the price tag on the sporty 100mm full suspension bike quickly showed us otherwise". The DT Swiss X1700 wheels, tyres and cassette, which in total weigh in at 3694g, allow the bike to steam powerfully and directly ahead.
Before the ride on the trail the feeling of anticipation among the test crew was high. The testers commented on the equipment saying, "Especially in the 100mm class, a well engineered and drive-neutral suspension that fits in with the suspension fork is of far greater value than an XT front derailleur here or a carbon seat post there". The Canyon Nerve MR was able to confirm the positive impressions it had already made on the testers in the efficiency tests. In the uphill and downhill points table the Nerve MR secured its number 1 place. The testers commented further, "The SID fork with remote lock-out and the drive-neutral rear triangle allows the rider to climb even with two chain rings. [...] On the downhill of our test run the firm fork was very responsive and the rear triangle made use of the entire range of travel".
First place in the points table was then rounded off with victory in the practice tests and in the category miscellaneous. "The anodized frame with its internally routed cables. Postmount at the rear and double-butted head tube is right up there with the leaders". The bike scored 127 points in total!
Superb qualities in all areas make the Canyon the number 1 sports bike in the test.
