Troy Brosnan in Whistler

3.9.2018, PROSPORTS UCI MOUNtain bike world championships lenzerheide

All eyes on the worlds!

After seven World Cup stops, the mountain bike elite will meet in the beginning of September for the final showdown in Lenzerheide, in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, to crown the new Downhill and Cross-Country World Champions.

Third place in the overall ranking of the Downhill World Cup 2018, second on this track in Lenzerheide in 2017 and winner of the Crankworx Downhill in Whistler, Canada a few weeks ago: For Troy Brosnan of the Canyon Factory Racing Downhill Team, the prospects could not be better. In a thrilling final last year in Lenzerheide, he was only 0.2 seconds short of the World Cup title. This time around, he has a score to settle and he’s eager for victory.

The 2.2 km long STRAIGHTline is known as one of the fastest Downhill tracks in the World Cup among the professional riders, and another new section through the forest has been built for this year’s race. After the road gap in the last third and a combination of hairpin turns, we return to the woodland where a freshly laid out root section will demand everything from the riders.

To ride at your best, you need the best bike. Get the Downhill bike of the Canyon Factory Racing Team, our Sender: Designed for high speed, wide gaps and the most technical descents. Select models currently on sale, so you can use the rest of your savings on lift tickets!

The men are separated from the boys during the first few metres of the 4.2 km long Cross-Country circuit, before the first technical descent. Those who prevail in the beginning have a better chance of seeing the podium. With an altitude difference of 188 m and numerous obstacles such as the Lenzerheide Cliff or the GoPro Root Section, full concentration and maximum performance is required. Pauline Ferrand-Prevot from CANYON//SRAM Racing and Mathieu Van Der Poel from Correndon-Circus will strive for medals with their Canyon Lux.

Who can find the perfect line? Who knows how to use technical terrain to their advantage and keep the speed high? With such a high-calibre line-up of riders, only fractions of a second ultimately decide the winner. High intensity riding is guaranteed!
