Riding High in Wicklow

Round three of the Enduro World Series is in the books and the famously rowdy crowds of County Wicklow, Ireland, came out in swarms to honor the life of Stevie Smith and fill the hills with good vibes. After a few disappointing performances at rounds one and two in South America, plus the news that Justin Leov would be sitting out for the next few races to recover from illness, the Canyon Factory Enduro Team rode into the weekend on uncertain legs. You never would have known. The team stepped up and used the good weather and the raucous energy of the crowds to muster some stellar performances.

After not riding up to his expectations at the first two rounds in Chile and Argentina, Joe Barnes came out swinging, placing 11th, 7th, 6th and 8th through the first four stages. Ultimately finishing 15th Joe showed that he is on the up and up and that when he is on, he is absolutely a top ten contender. Ines Thoma once again made her case that she is one of the most consistent riders in the EWS placing 6th and maintaining her position as 3rd overall in the series. Last but not least, Ludo brought things home with another solid performance and helped the team secure its spot as 6th in the overall series rankings
