Highlights

If you are considering buying the Endurace CF 7.0, you’re probably also considering the Endurace AL 7.0, and wondering what the difference is between the carbon and aluminium bikes. Since we think they are both great bikes we can’t really help by telling you one is definitely better than the other, but there are definite differences, and those we can certainly help explain. The CF 7.0, made from specially layered high-quality carbon fibre will offer a different ride quality compared to aluminium. It will be responsive like alu, but more supple, perhaps imperceivably so, at least until you get home from your first four hour ride and realize you are a lot less sore and fatigued than you would feel on an alu frame. The bike is intelligently spec’d with the high-quality but well-priced Shimano 105 groupset. You’ll get the performance without the expensive bells and whistles. Though the Endurace CF 7.0 is officially Canyon’s entry level carbon bike, you can be certain it offers anything but entry level performance. If you are looking for the best road bike on a budget, the CF 7.0 is a compelling choice.

BIKE CLASSIFICATION: Bikes of this category are designed for riding on hard-surface roads where the wheels remain in permanent contact to the ground. These are in general road-racing bicycles with racing handlebars or straight handlebars, triathlon or time trial bicycles. The permissible maximum overall weight comprising rider, luggage and bicycle should not exceed 120 kg. Under certain circumstances, this permissible maximum weight can be further limited by the component manufacturers’ recommendations for use. Proven cyclocross bikes with racing handlebars and cantilever or disc brakes are a special case in this category. In addition, these bikes are also suitable for gravel paths and off-road trails where a short loss of tire contact with the ground due to small stairs or steps at a height of 15 to 20 cm can occur.
