The Speedmax CF SLX 8.0 is that very rare animal: a practical time trial or tri bike. In the current setup, this is a bike that you can ride every day, nearly every road surface. The SLX 8.0 has the same great components and design flourishes of some of the other SLXs, but one great nod to an extra dose of practicality comes in the shape of the DT Swiss R32 Spline wheelset coming standard on the SLX 8.0. These are seriously durable aluminum wheels that come with a semi-aero depth that will cut through the wind on the flats, and promise snappy acceleration in the hills. The 22mm wide rims are tubeless ready and will work well with wider tires to help both with comfort and aerodynamics. In this case they have been wrapped with the Continental Grand Prix 4000s II in 25mm tires in the front and rear so you’ll have the best, most durable, lightweight racing tires that are tough enough for training as well.
Using the Shimano Ultegra Di2 will give this bike the perfect clean, crisp shifting performance with the aid of the Di2 button shifters that are ideal for the aero cockpit, so you’ll never skip a gear. The H26 CF Basebar combined with the fully integrated V19 AL Aero stem not only provides an aerodynamic face to the wind, but offers a wide range of adjustability with spacers and extensions. Then the Canyon E192 AL Extensions Ergo-S-Bend, developed in conjunction with Ergon, have a comfort-oriented s-bend shape to the extensions and plush arm pads. Hydration and nutrition storage systems have been craftily integrated and are also easily removed, making the frame UCI compliant.
If you are switching over from riding road bikes exclusively, you’ll want to give yourself a little time to get used to the handling of a time trial bike like the Speedmax, though the intelligent geometry prompts intuitive handling for the bike, which should help even the first-timer. The Canyon F32 Aero fork has a lot to do with that since it has been designed with a rake shift option when you change the insert in the fork dropouts to prompt either agile or stable handling depending on the course or your personal preference.
The Speedmax CF SLX 8.0 is the type of tri or time trial bike that you can feel comfortable taking out on a training and on race day. If you are in the market looking for the perfect all-rounder for a very niche discipline, then you could hardly do better than the Speedmax CF SLX 8.0.

BIKE CLASSIFICATION: Bikes of this category are designed for riding on hard-surface roads where the wheels remain impermanent contact to the ground. These are in general road-racing bicycles with racing handlebars or straight handlebars, triathlon or time trial bicycles. The permissible maximum overall weight comprising rider, luggage and bicycle should not exceed 120 kg. Under certain circumstances, this permissible maximum weight can be further limited by the component manufacturers’ recommendations for use. Proven cyclocross bikes with racing handlebars and cantilever or disc brakes are a special case in this category. In addition, these bikes are also suitable for gravel paths and off-road trails where a short loss of tire contact with the ground due to small stairs or steps at a height of 15 to 20 cm can occur.
