Democratising Performance: Canyon Launch first E-Road Bike, Endurace:ON AL

At Canyon, our goal is a simple one: to democratise performance. That’s why we’re so proud to announce our first e-road bike, the Endurace:ON AL. A bike that levels the playing field for everyone, and breaks down barriers to experiencing great road rides. Riders who want to enjoy a more controlled form of exercise. Riders fresh to the sport who want to keep up in the bunch. Riders who seek a little extra support to keep getting out into challenging terrain. Now, they can all carry on doing what they love, where they love doing it.

For that signature Canyon road bike feel, the Endurace:ON AL is built around the brand’s proven Sport Geometry, which has featured on all models in the top-selling Endurace road bike series to date. To meet the demands of e-road riding, the chainstays were extended by 10 mm to 425 mm, in order to house the drive system and provide a more planted feel, especially when descending with extra mass. Extra motorised support comes courtesy of a Fazua Evation motor – the system’s minimal-assist feel is especially suited to road riding. All Endurace:ON AL bikes feature the German manufacturer’s latest Black Pepper Performance Update, which completely retunes the motor’s power delivery for optimal responsiveness, getting even more out of its 250 watts maximum support and 60 Nm of torque.

Because e-road bikes can put more wear and tear on their components, the Endurace:ON AL also features a range of parts specially selected to deliver on reliability, control, and comfort: an aluminium frame, carbon fork, carbon seatpost, 32 mm Schwalbe E-One tyres, through axles, 160 mm disc brakes, and Shimano GRX shifting. Rounded out by a light 4.6 kg Evation drive system seamlessly integrated into the down tube, the total build weight is an impressive 15.2 kg. The result: a setup that retains all the agility of a classic road bike.

But the Evation isn’t only light – on the Endurace:ON, AL it also provides an impressive extra dose of performance, too. That’s because Canyon is the world’s first manufacturer to ship bikes with Fazua’s latest Black Pepper Performance Update. The gains are impressive: overhauled power distribution for more of a kick, an even more gentle and smooth feel, and more consistent support over a wider range of cadences - from 50 to 120 rpm. Simply put: with its new factory tune, the Evation is the most complete e-road drive system available today.

The Endurace:ON AL 7.0 will be available for €2,999* from 9 April – exclusively online at canyon.com. Available sizes: S-XL.
