Shimano EP8

Lighter, more powerful, more versatile: Shimano’s EP8 motor heralds the beginning of a whole new era of e-MTB riding. Its powerful motorised support now feels even more natural, and a longer range lets you ride further. The battery has a 630 Wh capacity (504 Wh in sizes S). What’s more, you can tune the motor to fit your riding style and terrain using an app, letting you extend the range even further.

USB-C

Extra power on tap! To activate the Shimano EP8 motor, simply press the top tube-integrated :ON button. You can pick between three support modes – Eco, Trail, and Boost. And there’s also an integrated USB-C charging socket for charging your smartphone, lights, or other devices.

Triple Phase Suspension

The rear end’s Triple Phase Suspension design provides sensational ride quality over any terrain. Sensitive small-bump response gives you top traction and control. With a stable platform in the middle section, you can keep momentum and speed over bumps and ruts. And on the descents, the suspension ramps up progressively for huge confidence and stability.

This category also covers the requirements of categories 1e-2e. In addition it includes use on rough and unpaved terrains. Sporadic jumps of a maximum height of approx. 60 cm are also included in the field of use of these bicycles. But inexperienced riders doing jumps of this height may land inappropriately, thus increasing the acting forces significantly which may result in damage and injuries. This category is represented by MTB hardtails and full suspension bicycles with short suspension travel. The E-Bike specific information is mentioned on the CE marking on your bike.
