Highlights

If there was a time early in the fat bike movement when you said you'd like to have one but didn't have enough uses for it, that will no longer be an issue when you buy the Dude CF 9.0 EX. This is a fat bike made for pure mountain biking. The frame has been layered with multi-modulus carbon fibre to withstand the various forces a pounding trail ride will demand. Inevitably the big, big wheels and tires will play an instrumental role in the comfort, and most importantly, the fun factor. The DT Swiss BR2250 have been developed specially to offer a fat bike a fat ride without heaping on the weight. By machining out the bits of material they don’t need, and reinforcing the areas around the spokes, the DT Swiss BR2250 with the four inch Jumbo Jim tire from Schwalbe will be able to remain snappy on the trails without feeling like a tank. Equipped with the RockShox Bluto RL suspension fork, the Dude CF 9.0 EX will promise perfect ground contact to keep the traction you need to up your speed. The SRAM GX 12-speed drivetrain and SRAM Guide R disc brakes complete the picture, giving you the shifting and braking performance to get you up and over any obstacle. Sticking a RockShox Reverb Stealth B1 dropper post on the Dude just means that you’ll be able to throw this bike around on the trails like any elite hardtail. Though a joy to ride, the Dude CF 9.0 EX is not meant just for joy-riding. This is a lightweight elite trail bike that will help fat bikes really begin to make sense.

BIKE CLASSIFICATION: Bikes in this category include those from categories 1 and 2 and are designed for harsher, unpaved terrain. The scope for these bikes includes occasional jumps up to a maximum height of 60 cm. Jumps of this scale can cause inexperienced riders to have accidents on landing, which can result in injury. Hardtail mountain bikes and full-suspension bikes with short travel are included in this category.
