Mathieu van der Poel made history at the 2025 Paris-Roubaix in April, winning the race for the third time in a row. Floating across the famous pavé sectors on his Aeroad CFR Tensor, MVDP won solo by more than a minute to become the first person to go back to back to back in 45 years.

Behind the design: Tensor

This special artwork is inspired by simulation testing done by our engineers on the Aeroad CFR. The different colour arrows show ‘tensor plots’, representing the intense levels of stress that the cobbles put the bike through.

Technology

The Aeroad is so light it’s almost unfair to the competition. With a frame weight of 960 grams and a barely race-legal, complete bike weight of 7.0 kilograms.

It slices through the air

Don’t take our word for it. Tour Magazine’s wind tunnel test prove the Aeroad needs 204 watts to overcome its own air resistance at 45 km/h. Translation? Nothing’s faster.

One tool for any task

The Aeroad’s front thru-axle has a hidden, built-in TX25 bit you can remove and use on any of the bike’s Canyon screws. A secret solution for emergency adjustments on the move.

Shaped by Roubaix

MVDP cares about Paris-Roubaix more than any other race, and the new Aeroad was built with his direct requests in mind: wider tyre clearance for comfort on the cobbles, a strongly reinforced front fork, and a hermetically sealed headset to keep out grime.

Adjustable, modular cockpit

Our innovative new PACE Bar has a modular design, meaning the drops can be separated from the T-bar and swapped for a more aero option (saving you up to 14 watts), or made narrower or wider with the simple turn of a TX25 key.

Comfort meets efficiency. Designed using advanced wind tunnel technology, the new Aeroad’s seatpost saves you watts for a free speed boost. Plus, it’s also simple to adjust so you can easily find your perfect riding position.

Smart solutions all-over

Simplicity meets problem-solving: a TX25 tool built into the thru axle lever, a frame-integrated power meter magnet, and replacement dropout protectors to stop scratches on the front fork in transit are just some of the features.

Please note: the tool is meant for emergency adjustments only. The user is responsible for following the specified torque values when tightening bolts, which cannot be checked with the tool.

Aeroad CFR Tensor support

Bike classification

Bikes of this category are designed for riding on hard-surface roads where the wheels remain in permanent contact to the ground. These are in general road racing bicycles with racing handlebars or straight handlebars, triathlon or time trial bicycles. The permissible maximum overall weight comprising rider, luggage and bicycle should not exceed 120 kg. Under certain circumstances this permissible maximum weight can be further limited by the component manufacturers’ recommendations for use. Proven cyclocross and gravel bikes with racing handlebars and cantilever or disc brakes are a special case in this category. In addition, these bikes are also suitable for gravel paths and off-road trails where a short loss of tyre contact with the ground due to small stairs or steps at a height of 15 to 20 cm can occur.
