Here's how we make the difference
One thing every climber learns early on is that climbing well is not enough; you also have to be able to descend. That’s one reason why equipping the Ultimate CF SLX Disc 9.0 SL, Canyon’s 820 g lightweight climbing frame, with SRAM e-Tap components complete with the HRD hydraulic disc brakes will make this bike the perfect climbing machine. With the Sport Pro Geometry of the Ultimate, you will be able to get as race-oriented a position as you like, but can still feel very comfortable riding on the tops or hoods for hours. Having hydraulic disc brakes on the Ultimate CF SLX helps to creates the perfect racing bike since you’ll be able to push your speed knowing full well that you always will have the control over your speed. You’ll also appreciate how narrow and minimal SRAM has been able to keep the HRD hoods in spite of all the tech they had to pack into the interior. For the wheels, the Ultimate CF SLX Disc 9.0 SL turns to the Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon Disc specific wheels. Lightweight and durable, the Cosmic come from a company that can boast a storied background with a deep history and Grand Tour successes. Updating them to accommodate disc brakes lifts this aerodynamic wheel to the level of unbelievable utility since it will offer the high performance you’ll demand in your races, and the durability you’ll appreciate on your long, solitary tours. Once you order an Ultimate CF SLX Disc 9.0 SL you’ll be ready to tackle any hilly race or competitive Gran Fondo with loads of confidence.
With classic, clean lines, the Ultimate uses the best, traditional design language that bikes have been returning to for over a century, but the advanced quality and use of the materials, combined with some of the most technically advanced components on the market makes this a fantastically light, high-performance modern machine. Having hydraulic disc brakes on the Ultimate CF SLX helps to creates the perfect racing bike since you’ll be able to push your speed knowing full well that you will be able to control the stopping force. For the cockpit, you’ll be getting the beautifully designed H36 Aero Cockpit CF handlebar and stem integrated system. Wonderfully ergonomic, the cockpit provides a very slim profile to cut through the wind and intelligently shaped bar and drops so you’ll have numerous comfy places to position your hands. You’ll also appreciate how narrow and minimal SRAM has been able to keep the HRD hoods in spite of all the tech they had to pack into the interior. And the wireless e-Tap shifting will really impress. Even just listing a few of the e-Tap attributes such as the carbon pulley cage and ceramic pulley bearings for the rear derailleur or the dual pivot brakes with titanium bolts clearly indicate the trouble SRAM took to make this groupset tops in its class.

These are in general road-racing bicycles with racing handlebars or straight handlebars, triathlon or time trial bicycles. The permissible maximum overall weight comprising rider, luggage and bicycle should not exceed 120 kg. Under certain circumstances, this permissible maximum weight can be further limited by the component manufacturers’ recommendations for use. Proven cyclocross bikes with racing handlebars and cantilever or disc brakes are a special case in this category. In addition, these bikes are also suitable for gravel paths and off-road trails where a short loss of tire contact with the ground due to small stairs or steps at a height of 15 to 20 cm can occur.
