There can only be one…

Disbelief. It was the only reasonable reaction to have after Aaron Gwin surfed his bike down the muddy mountain to take first in a race that saw most of the favorites placing in the 30s and 40s. After Troy’s mind-boggling run landed him in third place, it seemed like his spot as the new series leader was going to be a done deal. But Gwin’s magic run combined with Minnaar’s miserable one to put the Australian Canyon rider to third overall, 44 points out of second and a mere 77 out of first.

Now all eyes turn to Italy’s Valley of the Sun. It’s anybody’s guess who will pull out the win in the end, but it’s certain that it’s going to be quite the show. With points to pick up in qualifying, look for Troy to be on the gas all weekend long. To take the overall title, it’s likely going to take a win, and to take the win it’s going to take a gutsy run. We know Troy has it in him!

Mark is having an excellent season. Even with a small and wholly understandable misstep in the mud at Mont-Sainte-Anne he sits in 8th in the overall still buoyed by his 2nd place at Lourdes. He will be looking to put a stamp on his season and solidify himself as a consistent top ten rider!

You’re not going to want to miss this one, so tune in live on Red Bull on Saturday August, 26th at 3 PM CEST!
