Torque 7.0 Trailflow
Up to the challenges of touring and the bikepark - the test conditions were perfect for the Torque 7.0 Trailflow.
Even the predecessor of the 2010 Torque was able to impress Freeride magazine. The verdict: "Fabulous geometry, a functional rear triangle as well as sound and practical equipment for touring and freeride use." It's therefore not surprising that the editors were looking forward to the completely revamped version of the frame in 2010. "The frame is of the very highest standard as well as being both stiff and beautifully crafted. Good cable routing and the premium SAG-indicator on the rocker are all nice details. [...] The kinematic and the geometry have been carefully modified. A tapered steerer, a thru axle on the rear wheel together with 180 mm of travel on the rear triangle are new. After years of using Manitou suspension, the rear triangle is once again fitted with a "DHX 5.0" from Fox. It's not least thanks to the optimised geometry and use of a Fox DHX Air 5.0 that the all-rounder scores high in all categories and can compete with bikes optimised for downhill, whilst still retaining superb touring qualities. Vertride 6/6, flowing 6/6, technical 5/6 points are fabulous marks for the downhill performance of the Trailflow. It's a similar story with regard to the bike's versatility: Mountain tour 6/6, trail tour 6/6, bikepark 5/6 points - these are simply top results that ultimately led to the test victory. "Balanced suspension in every type of terrain, nevertheless still good when riding uphill. Even after putting the bike through its paces for three days we were unable to find one single point of criticism. The rear triangle's function is ideal and is much simpler to tune than previously. [...] In terms of all-rounder qualities there isn't a bike around that can put one over on the Canyon. The equipment: very good. Cockpit: perfect."
Verdict: "The Canyon is still the ultimate all-rounder. Super handling, lively enough for trail tours and as solid as a rock downhill. A bike that you'd even recommend to your best friend.
