Mountainbike magazine invited 17 all-mountain models to the test in its April 2010 edition. Of the 17 models tested, those which were offered by manufacturers in direct selling were especially recommended for their range of components. However, the Nerve AM 9.0 was also able to impress in other areas. The verdict of the testers, "Consistently at the cutting edge: For 2010 the Koblenz-based firm has adapted last year's winner to the 150 mm suspension fork generation and also chosen a new rear shock with greater air volume. The state-of-the-art and stiff frame with its tapered headtube and Postmount Standard have remained resulting in lively handling with most of the load being on the front. The bike is agile, responsive and playful, yet at the same time precise and predictable. Thanks to the sporty and compact position on the bike and a dream weight to boot, the rider really is put in the mood for racing [...]. Rear wheel traction is even noticeable on downhill rides and the rear triangle responds sensitively and operates much livelier than commonly known. It's however common knowledge that the equipment is perfect: The wide Easton carbon handlebar, the clever combination of tyres, the ingenious brake - Canyon has proven that it's not impossible to combine lightweight and all-mountain capability. And at a great price too!"
Verdict: the Nerve AM is a bike in the classic all-mountain mould - light, agile, superior equipment with loads of reserves on the suspension, and all this makes for mega fun.
