Dreams on wheels 2013. The Canyon Nerve CF 9.0 LTD is one of the six star bikes for the upcoming season which part in the test.
The Nerve XC dominated in many a test over the last few years and was also crowned touring full suspension bike of the year on numerous occasions by the readers of MountainBike magazine. This success story is set to add yet another chapter to the catalogue of successes achieved by the Nerve CF. As is usual in this category, the bike offers 120mm of travel and has remained faithful to the conventional 26-inch wheel. However, the Koblenz based firm has made significant changes to the frame. A high-performance 2.4kg lightweight carbon frame, the floating shock and flex pivot seat stays are the main features. The range of use of the 10.9kg Nerve CF therefore stretches right through to
marathon racing. A feast for the eyes for those who love aesthetics. The eye for detail on the cable routing as well as the perfect engineering make the Nerve CF the premium bike currently available in the Canyon range. On the trail the elite machine underscores this assessment most impressively. Thanks to the compact 427mm chain stays and the steep 69.5° steering angle the Nerve CF scurries around the corners and always performs with a great deal of agility. At the same time the frame delivers noticeable levels of stiffness (106Nm/° on the headset according to MountainBike magazine's measurements and that's jolly good. The responsive rear triangle reacts even to the smallest pebble stones and yet the suspension still remains pleasantly progressive on the jumps and banked bends and doesn't give way at all. When climbing the newcomer forges eagerly and nimbly ahead and the front wheel always remains firmly on the ground even on the steepest of uphill ramps.
The Nerve CF's elegance, innovative carbon chassis and superb ride characteristics impress. Whether you're on tour, doing alpine cross or marathon racing, the new Canyon will feel at home. The Nerve CF also boasts a well engineered, versatile geometry.
