Worth every cent
This year you can pound your fastest races times into the tarmac with the aluminium model – for less than EUR 1500. The design of the Speedmax AL frame is all about reducing air resistance: the wind does not stand a chance against the flat tube profiles, lowered rear triangle, smoothed weld seams and a narrow front. As you would expect, the cables are concealed within the frame. One aerodynamic highlight is the Aero Fork CF with carbon fibre blades, specially developed for the Speedmax AL. The narrow fork legs are the first point of contact with the wind, consistently directing the air flow into the overall system and making an important contribution to the outstanding aerodynamic characteristics.
The drop-shaped Aero Post CF can be adjusted within a wide range – the seat angle at the post can be adjusted anywhere between 75 and 78 degrees so you are certain to find a perfect, aerodynamic position. Low air resistance, outstanding aerodynamics and optimised equipment – you have never experienced an aluminium bike as fast as this in time trials and triathlons.
The horizontal drop outs allow the optimum adjustment of the rear wheel so that the tyre clearance to the frame is kept to an absolute minimum. The smaller the clearance the less the chance is that air turbulence effects performance.
Individuality and in-house development have top priority at Canyon. Therefore it was an absolute no-brainer that we launch a specially developed fork for the Speedmax onto the market. Not only does the fork fit in beautifully with the overall appearance of the bike, but it also makes an outstanding contribution to the overall aerodynamic design of the frame. The wide fork blades reliably guide the airflow over the entire system and as the first contact point for the wind, also make an outstanding contribution to the aerodynamic performance of the Speedmax.
The slide can be adjusted horizontally within a range of 50mm and allows you to optimize your bike to fit in with your preferences. In addition, the bike's streamlined design delivers optimum aerodynamics.
Looks good, saves weight and easy to replace: Canyon's internally routed cables. The particular feature: Even when the cables are not under tension they support each other and therefore do not rattle inside the down tube.
