Torque 7.0 Trailflow

Freeride, 2/2011

According to the slogan "we can do everything", Freeride magazine tested 13 super enduro bikes - and what was the best mark given in the test? - 9.5 for the Torque 7.0 Trailflow.

What's important for an enduro bike? It must be easy to pedal uphill, but also offer potent suspension on the downhill. The test riders from Freeride magazine put 13 bikes to the test on the trails. The test terrain used by Freeride's editors was the demanding „Madonna della Guardia" trail in Finale Ligure.

The most important thing for a super enduro bike is: how does it ride downhill? Here the testers reached a clear conclusion. "Anyone who prioritizes safety, comfort and superb handling simply can't ignore Canyon. No other bike in the test offers the rider such a high degree of safety, can cope with such high speeds and makes such effective use of travel as the Canyon. The rear triangle and front operate in perfect harmony and allow the suspension to soak up all the shocks from the trail. Despite its smooth running the Canyon shows that it's significantly more lively and frisky than other downhill specialists". Winner in the downhill test: the Canyon Torque 7.0 Trailflow.

Even the demanding editors from Freeride were impressed commenting, "The frame has been improved over the years and the equipment is of the highest standard. Tried and tested suspension components from FOX, a Hammerschmidt crankset, a sturdy braking system, a 'Reverb' hydraulic seat post, a wide Easton cockpit (760 mm handlebar) and anodized blue parts, which fit in nicely with the matt black frame". The equipment even cuts a fine figure in the bike park. The Canyon also took its place at the top of the podium in this discipline.

One of the editors perhaps somewhat too hastily wrote that Canyon was his personal test winner.

Verdict: the Canyon "Trailflow" took the testers by storm. The bike is sensibly equipped, offers superb control and forgives the rider when he makes mistakes thanks to the potent suspension, but is playful enough at the same time. Mission accomplished.
