The Strive CF 8.0 is among the incredibly well-spec’d results. Intrinsic to the design, the Shapeshifter technology allows you at the flick of a switch to change your rig from a climbing machine to DH thrasher, adjusting the geometry, suspension kinematics and travel. In each mode, the balance between the geometry and the suspension will give you the confidence to follow mountain goat tracks you never would consider otherwise. The carbon front triangle and alu 6066 rear have the Fox Performance Float EVOL DPX air suspension between which offers three basic positions in the compression stages for exceptional performance in all terrains. Up front, the Fox 36 Float Factory with 170 mm travel will track the ground so you’ll never loose grip. The SRAM X01 Eagle groupset offers an 1x12 set up that will give you the ratios you need to find the right gear with that life-preserver 50 tooth sprocket to get you out of the steepest sections. The tubeless ready DT Swiss EX 1700 Spline wheels work well with the Maxxis Minion DHR II 2.4 tires in the front for crazy traction while the rear Maxxis Minion SemiSlick 2.3 will grip in corners but still roll super-fast. BIKE CLASSIFICATION: This category includes all bikes from categories 1-3. In addition it includes use on very harsh, obstacle-scattered terrain with steep gradients and consequently higher speeds. Regular, moderate jumps pose no problem for experienced riders when using these bikes. Extended and regular use in bike parks and when tackling “North Shore” sections should be avoided. Due to increased stresses, these bikes should be checked for damage after every ride. Full suspension bikes with mid-level travel are typical in this category.
