Canyon’s new Precede:ON AL intelligently democratises e-city bike performance Canyon launches aluminium version of e-city bike Precede:ON

Canyon provide leading urban bikes designed to deliver a carefree riding experience in cities all over the world. When Canyon launched the Precede:ON CF in 2020, it was more than just a bike. It brought the spirit of RIDE UNLTD to solid city ground – unlimited ease, endless possibilities, and the joy of uninhibited movement. Waves and nods, weaves and glides… the feeling of total freedom. A joy ride to work or a roll to wherever – it was all possible for riders in any city, thanks to the bike’s do-it-all functionality, power and elegant carbon design. The new Precede:ON AL makes that all more accessible through its affordability, ease of use and everyday versatility. The glimmer of euphoria catching the sunrise on the morning commute is for free.

This bright new sibling will reach more riders than ever. It’s not just new for the sake of new, either. The Precede:ON AL takes the classic Precede:ON CF e-city style and bundles it into budget-friendly aluminium beauty. Designed for the everyday rough-and-tumble of the city: the Precede:ON AL has arrived.

The ultimate alternative to the car? Guaranteed. How? It’s equipped for whatever, whenever, wherever you want in the city. Everyday errands like powering to work in the morning, picking up the kids from school or last-minute grocery trips become a breeze – and keep you fit. Durable aluminium fenders prevent splashback from the streets, so you arrive looking just as good as when you left the house. Handily equipped with a robust, Ortlieb 3.1 QL-compatible rear rack for 25 kg of storage, there’s enough room for the picnic – and some. Super-bright, integrated Supernova lights on the front and rear ensure you’re never left in the dark. Two frame designs give freedom of choice between bold, dynamic design and easier mount and dismount. And finally, powerful Bosch motors and big-time battery capacity make those obnoxious hills easy-peasy.

There are three models in the new Precede:ON AL range. The flagship AL 7 (step-over frame) and AL 7 ST (step-through frame) come equipped with premium parts for long term comfort, performance, out-and-out utility, and complete control and confidence. Wide, grippy, puncture-resistant Schwalbe G-One Allround tyres withstand unpredictable city streets. Powerful Magura MT30 brakes ensure safe rides at your fingertips, whatever the weather. The low-maintenance, long-lasting Gates belt drive and Enviolo hub shifting take regular chain replacements and smudges on tights or trousers out the equation. The AL 7 is engineered for you to arrive on time and in style. Just ride.

Starting at €2,599* (size XS-M)/€2,799* (size L-XL) for the Precede:ON AL 5 with the flagship AL 7 at €3,499* (size XS-M)/€3,699 (size L-XL), the Precede:ON AL is available at canyon.com from Tuesday 1 March.
