Fabio Wibmer is…well, let’s start with the obvious—he’s a global phenomenon.

With Fabio, you can never really guess what you’ll see in his next video. Perhaps he’ll launch himself out the open door of a helicopter onto a ski slope in the alps, or pull a backflip on the roof of the Elbphilharmonie, 100 meters above the streets of Hamburg.

Wibmer is only limited by his imagination which, frankly, doesn’t appear to have any limitations at all.

The one throughline that runs through Fabio’s canon of videos is that each one is a showcase for his reality-bending blend of trials and downhill mountain biking skills. Hell, the guy somehow managed to make being stuck at home during the Covid epidemic a gripping and hilarious experience (that’d be Home Office, which is currently registering 44 million views and counting).

Fabio is one of the most talented and, quite likely the most recognizable, mountain bikers ever.

By YouTube’s own rankings, he is the fourth most-viewed athlete in the world and certainly the most-watched cyclist on the world’s largest video sharing platform.

With more than 400 videos to his credit, Fabio Wibmer is not just a daredevil rider—he’s a veritable Hollywood studio in his own right…albeit, a studio based in Innsbruck and that he takes on the road, wherever he happens to shoot his next clip. Paris, Los Angeles, Israel…the world, as Fabio has put it before, is his playground. He’s a man in constant motion.

If you get the sense that Fabio Wibmer is one very busy rider, you’re right. After all, when he’s not creating his next jaw-dropping video he’s also running his two clothing brands, SICK, which is his own line of merchandise and Nineyard, a fashion brand offering bike apparel and streetwear. You can add “fashion mogul” to his resume.

If you look closely at some of Fabio’s videos you might notice a tattoo on his right forearm that reads “trial and error”. At a surface level, the tattoo could be interpreted as an ode to trials riding in general, but it’s clearly also a personal philosophy that has helped Fabio Wibmer reach so many people around the world. 

That unique brand of fearlessness is something that has served him well and makes him one of Canyon’s most recognizable ambassadors.
