Canyon launch the Grizl AL - all the gravel you need
In May 2021, Canyon unleashed the Grizl CF – half gravel bike, half Swiss army knife down for a little bit of everything. Now, the German direct-sales brand is completing the Grizl family with the Grizl AL.

The Grizl AL is a gravel bike with the same design features that made the Grizl CF such a hit, all wrapped up in an accessible, functional, versatile aluminium package.
If the recent Gravel revolution has taught us anything, it's that there’s never been a greater appetite for solid, functional bikes that can do it all. That’s exactly where the Grizl AL comes in. Slotting into the Canyon aluminium gravel range alongside the more performance-minded Grail AL, the latest member of the Grizl family boasts a wide range of unique features that make it a true do-it-all model for all-year riding, weekend escapes, light touring, and everything between.
Let’s start where the rubber hits the road. For an even plusher ride fully loaded up, the Grizl AL has tons of tyre clearance – enough space for high-volume 50 mm rubber with room to spare. Out of the factory, all bikes roll on modern off-road wheelsets and 45 mm tubeless-ready tyres that are simple to convert. As well as practicality and affordability, the aluminum frame also delivers plenty performance and style, with the same superbly balanced Gravel Pro geometry as the other bikes in the Grail and Grizl family.
When it comes to carrying capacity, the Grizl AL has it covered. First, as the only pannier-compatible Canyon drop-bar bike, bearing heavy loads has never been easier – just attach a rear rack and fill your bags. A huge range of extra mounting points all over make the Grizl ideal for both short and long bikepacking expeditions alike: with options to bolt on more hydration, extra bags, and specifically-designed full-coverage mudguards, the Grizl has every mount needed for any journey. And for rougher, rowdier adventures, there are extra suspension fork options available: riders can make their own choice between the carbon Grizl fork with extra mounts, or the added comfort and control of RockShox Rudy gravel suspension. Finally, in terms of sizing, the Grizl AL now covers a more diverse range of riders than ever before, with an additional 3XS size bike at the smaller end of the spectrum.
The Grizl AL range starts with the Grizl 6, featuring Shimano GRX 400 shifting, alloy DT Swiss Gravel LN wheels, and compliant Canyon-engineered SP0057 seatposts. The flagship is the Grizl 7 Suspension, with Shimano GRX 600 and 810 drivetrain and brakes, and a RockShox Rudy XPLR suspension fork with 30 mm travel.
The complete Grizl AL range is available to order on Thursday 21 October 2021.
