profile

"On the trail, the Gapstar immediately shows how agile and manoeuvrable it is, it can be thrown from one turn to the next with total light-footedness." (World of MTB 02/13)
Riding uphill, you can turn the robust double Race Face Chester cranks with ease thanks to the best anti-squat kinematics – downhill, you benefit from the substantial 180 mm reserve spring travel. The Sram X9 derailleur with type 2 technology ensures smooth and precise gear shifts.

The chain stays firmly on the large ring, even on the roughest trails. At the front, the work is done by the sensitive RockShox Lyrik RC Solo Air with tapered head tube and 170 mm suspension travel. You are well prepared for all downhill eventualities with the high-end Cane Creek Double Barrel Air pneumatic shock. This offers a variety of setting options for the rear which is neutral relative to the drive.

  • "I start the climb with the ski lift, twiddle my way a further 300 hundred metres of elevation to the summit and then really shred the single trails."

    Tibor, canyon Hero
  • Readers Award: 2nd place in the category complete bikes.

offer precision and
reduced weight

ISCG-05 Standard
On the bottom bracket you can mount adapter plates for the ISCG-05, as well as for a Shimano E-Type front derailleur. This allows you to ride the Torque either with chain guide, Hammerschmidt crank set or with a 2 to 3-speed chain ring. The adapter plates are available separately as accessories.

Anti-Squat-Kinematics
Through a special arrangement of the four bearing points of the rear triangle, the 180 mm of rear travel will remain absolutely bob free even during pedalling. At the same time pedal kickback is reduced to a minimum.

SAG Monitor
By using a scale on the lever and a drag indicator on the bearing, you can easily read the used travel. Thus, tuning the suspension is a breeze.

Postmount standard and Syntace X-12-Thru Axle
180 mm and 185 mm brake discs can be directly attached to the frame without an adapter. This Direct- (Post) Mount attachment saves weight, increases the stiffness of the brake and facilitates tuning. Next to advantages concerning weight and stiffness the Syntace X-12 Axle provides a 100% accurate positioning of the rear wheel and brake disc. The easy handling makes a wheel change as fast and smooth as never before.

Bike Classification

This category includes all bikes from categories 1-3. In addition it includes use on very harsh, obstacle-scattered terrain with steep gradients and consequently higher speeds. Regular, moderate jumps pose no problem for experienced riders when using these bikes. Extended and regular use in bike parks and when tackling “North Shore” sections should be avoided. Due to increased stresses, these bikes should be checked for damage after every ride. Full suspension bikes with mid-level travel are typical in this category.
