Canyon Factory Racing

The finish line is just the start.

We make bikes that win

Canyon Factory Racing (CFR) is our advanced development program, a relentless push for the next level of ride performance.

We combine meticulous German engineering with a ‘no compromises’ approach to innovation. The result? We provide our riders with bikes that can win the biggest races in the world.

Fast, by design

Speed isn’t given. It’s extracted. Mined from the margins, refined in the lab, proven in the race. A straight line is never straight. The wind is never still. The road is never smooth. And yet, the goal has always remained the same for us: to move through it all with absolute efficiency.

CFR brings together decades of development on the edge of performance.

CFR
Carbon expertise
For years, we have worked with aerospace experts to push the limits of the carbon ‘holy trinity’ in cycling: strong vs stiff vs light. CFR is where we are most ambitious, with experimental layups, rare fibre materials and intricate constructions.
CFR
Chasing aero
In 2023 we created the Speedmax CFR, the fastest ever Canyon bike. The aerodynamic learnings from such ambitious projects with world-leading partners like Swiss Side always trickle down, leading to speed gains across the board.
CFR
Fearless innovation
Progress takes risks. Our engineering team regularly develop never-seen-before products in the hunt for performance. Recent examples include the modular Aeroad cockpit, K.I.S. system, HighBar strap, and the Inflite’s mud-shedding frame.
CFR
Extra-mile R&D
Outside-the-box thinking ends up inside the bike box. Take the new Sender: our engineers built a unique ‘test mule’ that trials multiple different platform variations. From this testing, we locked in a setup that has won World Cups before launch.
CFR
Test. Iterate. Refine.
Our testing lab scrutinises CFR bikes in every conceivable way. Specialist machines test seat load, braking, and steering fatigue, as well as bad weather durability. We also do X-rays, CT and 3D scanning. Nothing goes untested. Everything gets refined.

Engineered with pros

How do we go further, faster?
By listening to our athletes, feeling what they need.
By testing, refining, and red-lining.
By shaving weight here, and adding strength there.
By balancing the essentials, and cutting the noise.
We put riders first
The first Speedmax triathlon bike established an athlete-driven way of working at Canyon. Ironman legend Jan Frodeno tirelessly pushed the CFR engineers for more rider-specific features. One such example was a hydration system built into the frame – a first at the time.
Bikes built for purpose
Mathieu van der Poel cares about Paris-Roubaix more than any other race, and the new Aeroad road bike is built for purpose: wider tyre clearance for comfort on the cobbles, a strongly reinforced front fork, and a hermetically sealed headset to keep out road grime.
Pro requests that solve problems
At World Cup race weekends, Canyon mechanics would strip down and build up the Sender downhill bike so many times that they asked for replacement inserts on the pivot points to avoid wearing out the threads. One fix solved another: crossthreading isn’t an issue any more either.
No detail is too small
Built to chase podiums around the world, the Lux World Cup CFR is a XC dream bike. A featherlight 3.6g chain guide gives our riders the security that they won’t drop the chain while in the red zone, and the double bottle cage was a pro request from marathon racers going long.
We stay ahead of the curve
Setting the new standard in the fast-moving world of gravel, our Pro Gravel Cockpit (CP0047) is the result of pro feedback for longer, lower and narrower bars. By using a 16° flare and negative stem angle, the cockpit is as aggressive as it can be versatile.
