We at Canyon are proud to support some of the world's best female cyclists and ambassadors across a wide range of disciplines. For this year's International Women’s Day we are embracing the IWD theme of #BreakTheBias. We asked our athletes to share an example of how they have helped challenge and break the bias against women in sports.

From winning more races and breaking records to improving pay and working conditions for women, our sport has come a long way in a short time. But there's still work to be done. We're proud to support the women leading the charge as they break down barriers for the next generation of athletes.

We're partnered with Movistar Team, Canyon//SRAM Racing, Alpecin Fenix, Canyon CLLCTV and more recently Canyon//SRAM Generation. In addition, our female triathletes are regularly celebrating success on the world stage. It's clear to see there's a growing pool of talent on the women's racing scene. From former world champions to junior riders making their debut on elite racing podiums, we're excited and proud to nurture their talent as they realise their potential.

“I’m super proud to be part of this new era for women's cycling and the growth inside the peloton. It’s been a spectacular year last year, with a lot of spectacular races and a lot of different personalities. I think we are showing [our personalities and strength] in every single race we do and I’m just super proud to see where we’re going.”

"I think the road race at the Rio Olympic Games was a turning point for women's cycling. I was able to show myself that I can ride fast and suffer. Also after my crash it gave my fighting spirit an opportunity to come back and to inspire other women."

"I've worked in a bike shop for five years as a service technician and mechanic. There aren't a lot of women in the industry in these positions, so I enjoy having that presence in the community and offering another connection for other female customers and athletes to be a little bit more comfortable getting into the sport and to share the stoke for mountain biking!"

"I think for me being in a male dominated sport and wearing the colour pink and sending it down the same track as the boys, and throwing it down with the boys has just shown to a lot of people that you can wear what you want, look as pretty as you want and you can still go and shred with the boys."
