IPU (Impact protection Unit)
Our latest IPU – short for Impact Protection Unit – is perfectly integrated into the frame at the headset and protects the top tube from over-rotating handlebars in the event of a crash. The system doesn’t affect the bike’s manoeuvrability – you can still turn the bars far enough to nail the tightest switchbacks on the course.

That’s why Lux World Cup CFR bikes are fitted with premium, super long-life CeramicSpeed bearings all over – we use them on the frame, headset, and bottom bracket. The top-tier stiffness to weight ratio and 2 position suspension lockout of the DT Swiss F232 One fork and R232 One shock is ideal for riding across the harsh terrain of the Cape Epic. With 110 mm front and 100 mm rear travel, this elite setup is finished in a limited edition colourway and gives you the edge over the competition.

Bike classification
This category also covers the requirements of categories 1-2. In addition it includes use on harsher, unpaved terrain. The scope for these bikes includes occasional jumps up to a maximum height of 60 cm. Jumps of this scale can cause inexperienced riders to have accidents on landing, which can result in injury. Hardtail mountain bikes and full-suspension bikes with short travel are included in this category.
