How many vertical metres can you climb in 1 hour?

We recently asked you to take your E-MTB as high as possible in one hour. Let's take a look at how some of you got on.

How many vertical metres can you climb in 1 hour? How many vertical metres can you climb in one hour?

Climbing is as tough as it is rewarding and we know all too well the bittersweet relationship most people have with ascending. Unfortunately, there’s no fun on the descents without the grind of getting to the top of the hill. With an E-MTB it’s much easier and faster to get there, so we wanted to know just how many metres you can ascend and descend in one hour.

Let’s find out how our challengers got on...

Getting up here on Mount Washington for that view...it's all thanks to this bike.

How it went

This was on big adventure. Deciding to head out before breakfast meant I had the trails to myself, and had the pleasure of seeing some amazing dawn views over Pasadena and Los Angeles.

The best bit

Riding so many trails in such a short time kept things exciting for every minute of the hour. There wasn't one dull moment during my time on the bike and I can't wait to get out into the mountains again.

Overall impressions of the bike

Totally blown away by how well this thing tracks. It does really well in the rough, chunky sections. The Neuron:ON is such a fun bike, it's so nimble. The 29er wheels roll over everything, and combined with the power of the EP8 motor, you know you can have fun all day long.

The results

815 metres of climbing, 815 metres of descending, all in 60 minutes.

Any surprises?

The final result - it’s awesome how much ground E-MTBs can cover in a short time!
