Nerve AM 7.0

Mountainbike 11/09

The 2010 Nerve AM impresses with 150 mm forks and even more fun on the trails

After its relaunch in 2009 the Nerve AM will be receiving its first rejuvenation in 2010. The bikes now come with longer-stroke forks. The testers' verdict, "In practice the extra travel is noticeable, although not too excessive - the Nerve AM is an agile, all-mountain bike with almost perfect handling characteristics [...]." To keep the steering angle the same despite the increased fork travel, Canyon has modified the steering tube angle by 0.3 degrees. The opinion of the testers: "Even while climbing there are no noticeable negative effects. The Canyon still scrambles very well - a grasp towards the Talas lever is only necessary on climbs of more than 20 degrees, if ever." The new Nerve AM also is also superbly equipped at the rear wheel suspension. The new Fox RP23 rear shock with Boost Valve Technology is now doing its job on the rear triangle. Riding impression: "It operates even more subtly that before, and increasingly linear [...] - all a biker needs!"

CONCLUSION: Even with its 150mm of travel at the front the Nerve AM still is a fleet-footed, extraordinary all-mountain bike. Even more bike for your money!
