When break pads are worn out they need to be replaced. Brake pads are either compatibel with sinter brake pads or organic brake pads. Both pads have the following features:
Sinter Brake Pads
These pads are made of 50% metal and 50% fill material. They are more durable and provide good performance when they heat up. The disadvantage is that they wear out rather quickly and they are inclined to squeak while braking.
Organic Brake Pads
Organic pads contain elements of glass, rubber, carbon fibres and fill material. These pads wear out rather quickly, but they are easy on the disc and emit less noise.
Only use prake pads recommended by the manufacturer.
Ensure that all screws and bolts are tightened to the correct torque. The correct torque is indicated on the component itself, in the bike manual provided with your new bike, or here in the Technical Support Center.
