Responsibility

Responsibility

Responsibility isn’t about appearances - it’s about impact.

Bikes are already a low-emission mode of transportation. But real responsibility means going further – rethinking not just how bikes are used, but how they’re made.
Our ambition is to become the world’s most innovative and inspiring bike brand – not only through our great bikes, but by building them with care for people and the planet.

People – Planet – Product

At Canyon, we view People, Planet, and Product as part of the same system—much like different parts of a bike that only function smoothly when they work together. While we structure our material topics within these three areas, they are closely connected and should be considered in relation to one another. These material topics were identified as part of Canyon’s double materiality assessment, and we will work on them and report on our progress over time.
Governance stands above these three areas as an overarching theme that influences how we set goals, make decisions, and ensure accountability. Rather than fitting into a single pillar, it plays a guiding role across People, Planet, and Product.

Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF): Tracking our climate impact

We measure our Corporate Carbon Footprint annually and implement targeted measures to reduce emissions across operations, energy use, and our supply chain.

Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)

We’re committed to reducing our emissions across all scopes in line with targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative — for a measurable, science-driven path toward net zero.

Climate Action Training Programme for suppliers

Together with industry partners, we offer a free Climate Action Training Programme that supports suppliers in building knowledge, setting targets, and reducing emissions along the cycling value chain.

Our path to responsible packaging

As a Pack4Good partner, we’re working with Canopy to improve how we source and use forest-based materials — aiming to reduce environmental impact and protect vital ecosystems.

The Mekong Club

We have joined the Mekong Club; a non-profit organisation dedicated to tackling modern slavery and forced labour in global supply chains. As a member, we are committed to implementing a thorough human rights due diligence process across our operations. This partnership allows us to collaborate with like-minded companies, share best practices, and strengthen efforts to address the risks of modern slavery and forced labour in our supply chain, supporting ethical and sustainable business practices worldwide.

Materiality analysis

Our double materiality analysis helps us focus on the ESG issues that are most relevant to Canyon and our stakeholders — guiding strategy, reporting, and action across the business.
