Team spirit, passion, responsibility and optimum performance in cycle sport are of paramount importance to Canyon. As the most successful manufacturer of the UCI WorldTour 2011, of the world championship winning bike of 2009 and a passionate promoter of young talent we’ll be facing new challenges in pro sport from January 2013 onwards. Together with the Katusha team we’ll surely enrich the pro scene and are looking forward to a season of truly memorable moments and success.
The pros from our new Russian Katusha team led by General Manager Hans-Michael Holczer completed the first training camp in preparation for the new season in Tuscany in December. It was the first meeting with all the team’s main protagonists and for the time being also the last one. This is because the next training camp takes place on Mallorca at the end of this month when several riders of the 29-strong team will be already taking part in some early season races elsewhere.
The key focus on the agenda in Tuscany was of course providing the riders with their new equipment, but also included detailed discussions among the team members, photo-shootings, training sessions and team strategy planning with Michael Rich and advisor Erik Zabel. Under the supervision of ex-pro Ronny Scholz and our mechanics the new Ultimate CF SLX and the Aeroad CF in Katusha Team Design were individually adjusted to meet the demands and special preferences of the riders.
