Precautionary product recall of all Smolik Race SL forks.

No compromise: Canyon is exchanging the Smolik Race SL fork.

Dear Canyon Customer,

Canyon stands for quality and the best in technical achievement. As such, in magazine tests around the world we receive the highest ratings. Any small detail that would challenge our philosophy is more than enough reason to enhance our bicycles.

During an internal quality check we identified six forks from the Motivation Race SL product line, where the wall thickness of the steerer tube does not meet our fixed tolerances. Therefore, there is a higher chance of the fork breaking, which can lead to serious accidents. We have set high standards for our product’s safety and do not want to endanger our customers. Only by exchanging every fork can we eliminate the potential risk of a fork breaking.

This is why we are asking you to immediately stop using your F8, F9 or F10 series bike. Please do not send us your bike – for the fork – before the date given in the personal letter you should have received.

We ask for your understanding and will work hard after this date to make the required fork change and return the bike to you as quickly as possible.
