profile

Light. Stiff. Efficient. This bike guarantees a great time out on the trails! At the core of the Nerve CF frame lies the single-piece carbon rear triangle with floating shock and pliable Flex Pivot seatstays. Shimano’s high performance XT drivetrain ensures you accelerate up to speed quickly and with its innovative Shadow Plus technology, the chain runs smoothly and remains firmly on the chainrings.

Whether riding up steep climbs or down demanding technical descents, the Fox Factory suspension with Adjust Fit and CTD can be modified in seconds to perfectly suit the terrain. The Rock Shox Reverb Stealth vario seatpost allows for even further adjustment so you can achieve the ideal riding position with just the push of a button.

Flex Pivot
The seat stays consist of an integrated and flexible carbon structure. That means they flex fractionally when compressing. The flex of just 3.5° is minimal. This does away with the need for pivots on the chain stays. This also reduces both wear and tear as well as weight.

One-piece rear triangle
The entire rear triangle is made of full carbon and is all one piece without any weld seams or pivots. This makes the rear triangle extremely stiff whilst being very low in weight. In addition, the bike has a unique design.

One-piece carbon rocker with floating shock
The rocker is manufactured from one-piece full carbon. The lower shock eye is not fitted to the main frame, but moves together with the rear triangle on the extension of the chain stays. The tuning of the leverage ratios of the upper and lower shock eyes made the optimization of the kinematic characteristic curve possible whilst achieving the most efficient use of materials.

Internally routed line for Stealth / Sealable opening on the down tube
The hydraulic line on the Reverb Stealth seat post runs inside the frame. This ends the need for the irritating expansion bend. For the Puritans who don’t want a Vario seat post, the guide hose and outlet connections at the front can be completely removed so that the bike isn’t a single gram too heavy. The frame displays a very tidy appearance both with and without the Reverb Stealth.

Bike Classification

Bikes in this category include those from categories 1 and 2 and are designed for harsher, unpaved terrain. The scope for these bikes includes occasional jumps up to a maximum height of 60 cm. Jumps of this scale can cause inexperienced riders to have accidents on landing, which can result in injury. Hardtail mountain bikes and full-suspension bikes with short travel are included in this category.

Outstanding - Test winner

MountainBike, 04/13 (model 2013): For those who want to avoid the mega sized wheels of the 29ers, they will find alternatives in the short test in Mountain Bike magazine, which checked out several dream tourers on 26 inch wheels and costing around 3000 Euro. more  »
