Our aim was to revolutionise “the most comfortable frameset that Tour has ever tested” and to improve on stiffness and weight – and that’s just what we’ve done with the new SLX for 2013. “More direct, more comfortable, faster,” is what Roadbike thought when they took the new top of the range model out on the road for the first time (10/2012). The area around the top of the seat tube has been optimised for greater comfort, with the third generation Maximus Seattube and a top tube that flattens towards the rear. The PressFit carbon fibre bottom bracket shell has an extremely wide attachment to the asymmetric chain stays for added stiffness.

The slim tubes, flowing shapes and concealed cables give the bike a clean and attractive look. The modern lightweight Campagnolo Record EPS is also a real head turner. Electrifying performance, extreme precision and maximum reliability are what set the best apart from the rest. The ergonomic shifters are comfortable to hold, and the precise gearing range of the 11-speed cassette means you will always find the best ratio. In flat stages and in the mountains, the Mavic Ksyrium SLR WTS with Exalith braking surface is light and stiff enough to speed you on your way. Outstanding stiffness, superior comfort and maximum fun – this is the bike that will put you out in front.

VCLS Technology
Vertical Comfort, Lateral Stiffness – the VCLS Stays in conjunction with the VCLS Post improve the suspension properties of the frame effectively, without affecting the lateral stiffness. The VCLS Blades on the fork, comprising a special combination of basalt and carbon fibres, complete the Canyon VCLS Technology.

i-Lock headset system
With the special clamping mechanism of the i-Lock headset system the drilling of the steerer tube and the fitting of a clamping cone are no longer necessary. This ensures that the carbon shaft of the fork stays intact and offers maximum safety in every riding situation.
