Highlights

For many years now, the Grand Canyon AL has been one of the most successful hardtails in the Canyon line-up. Perfect for racing and training, it is an aluminium 29er that offers the same high level of performance as our flagship carbon hardtails and at a great value. The Grand Canyon AL 5.0 comes equipped with a RockShox Recon RL suspension fork. The 29er Alex Rims MD19 hoops with their huge tire contact area are wrapped with the Schwalbe Racing Ralph Performance 2.25 inch tires, which provide the amazing grip for every trail condition without sacrificing fast rolling on hardpack. If you need a size XS or S, you’ll be getting a bike with 27.5 inch wheels to guarantee an efficient ride and snappy handling, while the larger sizes will have 29 inch wheels. Having the proper gear ratio is essential to all mountain biking. That’s why we have equipped the bike with the Shimano Deore XT ShadowPlus rear derailleur to ensure precise and fast shifting even in the roughest terrain. The 11-speed drivetrain with a 2X 36/26 in the front and a 11-42 rear cassette will help you grind up the steepest inclines. If you are looking to purchase a top quality XC hardtail without spending a mint, then the Grand Canyon AL 5.0 will be a great option.

BIKE CLASSIFICATION: Bikes in this category include those from categories 1 and 2 and are designed for harsher, unpaved terrain. The scope for these bikes includes occasional jumps up to a maximum height of 60 cm. Jumps of this scale can cause inexperienced riders to have accidents on landing, which can result in injury. Hardtail mountain bikes and full-suspension bikes with short travel are included in this category.
