"From an ambitious marathon right through to soft all-mountain use the lightweight and perfectly balanced and equipped Nerve XC impresses right across the board. Canyon can!" Outstanding – test winner in Mountainbike magazine 03/11 (2011 model year)
No descent is too long, no trail too steep. With the Nerve AL 9.0 SL you'll master every challenge. Uphill the bike that just loves the climbs comes up trumps with a total weight of just over 11kg – that saves your strength for the descent. Thanks to the outstanding anti-squat-kinematic the rear triangle functions extremely responsively and delivers the best possible comfort and traction.
Top levels of stiffness and low weight – the Fox Float fork from the Factory range can be optimally adjusted to meet your requirements via the CTD function. The FIT cartridge guarantees the best possible damping even on long, fast descents. The premium Kashima coating reduces friction and guarantees a super smooth response from the Fox fork. With the brand new Formula T1 you can look forward to the one of the lightest all-mountain brakes on the market. The brakes are powerful, offer superb modulation coupled with outstanding performance and control. Versatility at its best. The Nerve AL 9.0 SL will truly impress you.

ASYMMETRIC SEAT STAYS

Radial pivot bearing
The radial pivot bearing is 20 times stronger than a conventional industrial bearing. Considering the small space it takes up and its proximity to the bottom bracket, it is an important building block for the drive neutrality of the frame.
Hydro 14
The integration of hydroformed tube sets in the Nerve XC frame allows a new freedom in design. Flowing, smooth transitions direct the loads, which are generated during cycling, safely and directly through the material. In addition, reinforcing plates (gussets) become unnecessary. This saves weight while maintaining full stiffness.
Asymmetric seat stays
While the seat stay on the left of the frame has to deal with high braking loads, we were able to get the weight down on the less stressed right side. The asymmetrical design of the stays provides maximum braking power on the one hand and a weight advantage on the other side.
Internally routed cables
A superb appearance and protected from weather, the shift cables run inside the frame. To prevent rattling in the down tube we created the crossed cable routing, for which a patent is pending. The cables stabilize each other in this way. By eliminating the cable housing we were again able to reduce weight.
